Barclay Bank has responded after a group of hackers penetrated its systems and withdrew millions of shillings from its Automatic Teller Machines (ATM).
The reports emerged on Sunday morning that up to Sh11 million had been withdrawn by the robbers.
The bank came out hours later and admitted the theft.
"We can confirm that there has been theft at 4 of out ATMs in Nairobi. We are working with the investigative authorities to ensure that the perpetrators of this crime are brought to justice," part of the bank's statement reads.
On Sunday morning, crime busters launched a manhunt for the gang who milked the ATMs dry.
The robbers applied guerrilla-like tactics such as smearing CCTV cameras with dirty before withdrawing millions from the cash dispensers.
Affected ATMs are at Mutindwa, Buruburu, Kenyatta National Hospital and at The Mater Hospital in South B.
It is not clear what security guarding the premises were during the incident.
