According to Citizen TV, the unidentified hackers have since been tweeting fake information on how to earn money online by taking part in paid surveys.

Further reports indicate the hackers managed to take over the party's social media page by infiltrating log-in credentials during a routine upgrade on the party’s systems.

Hacking of social media accounts has been on the rise, mostly targeting public figures and media houses with a massive following.

Among those targeted by the hackers are Twitter users using third-party mobile which exposes their accounts to security risks.

For the case of Jubilee Party Twitter handle, it is suspected that an untrustworthy third-party application might have obtained the login credential, thereby releasing random spam messages.
