Speaking on Wednesday during the morning session in parliament broadcasted by KBC, Junet lauded the IG for his abundant knowledge and skills in the security sector.

"The President has gotten this one properly in terms of regional balance," he said.

He added, they were almost perplexed that the position of the police boss was reserved for one region as witnessed over the years.

"We were almost wondering the Inspector General is nowadays becoming an incline of one region in the country or a Paramount chief," wondered Junet.

He, however, requested the new IG to work within the provisions of the law and independently with regard to the constitution since he is the appointee of the people of Kenya.

"He must work in accordance with the law without fear or favour," he added.

Hillary Mutyambai will take over from Joseph Boinnet who served his term successfully having taken over from David Kimaiyo who resigned after the country faced a lot of security challenges.
