South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has dismissed Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i as a non performer, arguing that his presidency will be disastrous to Kenya.
In a response on Facebook to city lawyer Wahome Thuku, Osoro termed Matiang'i as an ever quarrelling leader, adding that his presidency would be argumentive all the time.
He said that Matiang'i's leadership is more of the late Interior Minister George Saitoti or Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, adding that he can't match the late John Michuki.
"The guy likes querrelling and his presidency can be one very 'argumentative' tenure. What you see on TV is so different from the real him.
"Actually, media sells the opposite of both their characters..To sum it up,Matiang'i is a replica of Saitoti and slightly Gideon Moi not Michuki as people think.I would choose Dr Ruto any day, any time," he said.
On Monday, a host of Gusii leaders endorsed Dr Matiang'i for presidential seat, arguing that his performance has been above average.
Those who backed him include Nyamira Senator Okong'o Mogeni, Governor John Nyagarama and Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama.
Mr Osoro has been running William Ruto's campaigns in Gusii. A fortnight ago, he accompanied Dr Ruto to Nyamira where they held a series of functions.
