Outspoken lawyer Miguna Miguna has reiterated his initial stand that the allegation against Migori's Governor Okoth Obado involvement with Sharon Otieno's murder was politically motivated.
Miguna tied the allegations to the Migori senatorial by-elections at the time.
"I told you so. I stated that the murder charges against Okoth Obado in relation to Sharon Otieno's tragic death were politically choreographed to further Raila Odinga's designs in the Migori Senatorial by-election, his zombies were frothing all over and condemned Obado unheard," reads a Twitter statement by Miguna Miguna.
Miguna suggests that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga political friends had designed to ensure ODM wins the senatorial by-elections and Obado's name had to be removed from the equation for that to happen.
Governor Obado appeared at the time to support the political newcomer Eddy Oketch in the by-election who was going to contest with ODM's Ochillo Ayacko who was the eventual winner.
Obado's support for Oketch was not a big surprise because a year before, Ochillo Ayacko had contested with him for Migori gubernatorial position during the 2017 general elections.
There were suggestions in the social media that the case was dropped due to insufficient evidence, however, the DPP clarified that it has not dropped the case.
"@ODPP_KE has not & does not intend to drop murder charges against Migori Governor Okoth Obado as claimed on social media Obado & his 2 co-accused are charged with 2 counts of murder of former Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno & her unborn baby," reads a Twitter statement by DPP.
