Leaders from across Nyamira have continued to send their condolences to Milton Nyakundi, the veteran journalist who last his wife on Tuesday night.
Mrs Rebecca Njoki died after miscalculating her footsteps along Meru-Nanyuki highway, and subsequently drowning into a river that had burst its banks.
ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire termed the death as a 'tragic loss' to the family, adding that he wished them God's confort this trying times.
"I learnt the death in pain. She was a promising journalist like her husband. May God comfort the family during this tragic moment."
At Tombe on Wednesday, Wiper Vice Chairman Victor Swanya said the death as 'shocking', adding that precautions should be taken when crossing bridges.
"I am shocked to hear that she passed on when walking along the road. We should take precautions during this rainy period," he said.
Earlier, aspiring Kitutu Masaba MP David Ombego had mourned with the family of Nyakundi, a popular journalist in the country.
Mrs Rebecca Njoki's body was taken to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting burial preparations.
Before joining FKF as a communication strategist, Nyakundi had long spells with state media, Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation, after which he was ousted for leading workers strike.
