Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen was yesterday busted lying to Kenyans by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.
This came after Murkomen took on Twitter where he claimed that investigations by DCI were biased. He alleged that advance payment of Sh7.3 billion for Thwake Dam in Makueni County had been made three years ago and the office DCI had not initiated any investigations.
"This is the site of Thwake Dam in Makueni County where 7.8B advance payment was made 3 years ago. How far is the @DCI_Ken with investigations? We will not allow discrimination as long as we are still in a country called Kenya," he tweeted.
The tweet was also accompanied by a photo of a bush in which he claimed was the site of the alleged stalled dam project. This did not go well after Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr who fired back claiming the senator was lying.
“I am embarrassed to inform you that picture on your post is not the site of the dam. The Thwake dam is at the confluence of two rivers – Athi River and Thwake River. I thought you should know,” Mutula tweeted.
This prompted Murkomen to save himself from the 'embarrassment' where he acknowledged Mutula's effort in bringing more facts.
"I am glad you have not controverted anything You have just added more facts," he replied.
The debate comes amid of claims by DP William Ruto's close allies who have accused DCI of playing politics after it was reported that Sh21 Billion meant for construction of Arror and Kimwarer dams were lost.
