A group of politicians have planned a fundraiser scheduled for Friday this week to raise funds that will redeem traders from the sad state of affairs as they seek economic empowerment.

According to reliable sources, the fundraiser that is being organized by the office of Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika in collaboration with Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria will see the traders at the market form a welfare group.

The traders plan to purchase a bus, tents, and chairs that will be used as an avenue for economic empowerment through hiring.

Already traders at the market have lauded the move by the leaders adding that it will be a boost for them.

The more than 3,000 traders at the market are involved in selling fresh foods and dry cereals among other products.

The Chief Guests at the function will be Senator Kithure Kindiki, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, Nakuru Woman Rep Liza Chelule, MPs Benjamin Cheboi (Kuresoi North), Moses Kuria(Gatundu South), Charity Kathambi(Njoro), Kuria Kimani(Molo), Samuel Tonui(Kuresoi South), Samuel Arama(Nakuru West) and Kimani Ngunjiri(Bahati)among others.
