Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader has thrown his weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts to eradicate corruption in the country.

On Thursday Raila,  emphasised that no one should be spared in the war against graft including his relatives or members of his community.

Speaking in Machakos County, the opposition leader said no one is above the law and that everyone must be responsible for their actions.

"Even if you are my brother and you are caught in corruption, you will carry your own cross because you did not steal on my behalf or on behalf of my tribe," he said.

On the on-going sugar report debacle, the former Prime Minister asked relevant government agencies to step in an bring to book all those who took part in the bribery scheme that culminated to the rejection of report by Joint House Committee that investigated entry of 'poisonous' sugar in the country.

"Those bribing MPs should also be blamed. We should investigate who they are and why they went to tempt MPs. It takes two to tango," he stated.

Raila spoke at Tala during the burial ceremony of Christine Wausi, an aunt of former Senator Johnson Muthama.

He observed graft was the reason most Kenyans have remained poor and exuded confidence it will be defeated.

"We have agreed with President Uhuru Kenyatta that we must tackle and deal with it at any cost,” the NASA leader said.
