Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been told not push for the referendum with an intention to become the Prime minister again.
Betty Obiri, a nominated Jubilee MCA in Kisii County while speaking at Nyamatutu PAG church in Bonchari sub county said Raila should accept to retire.
"The referendum being pushed by the ODM party leader should benefit Kenyans. Creation of more posts in government such as Prime Ministe is unacceptable," she said.
She argued that Kenyans are ready to go for a referendum to scrap unnecessary political seats such as women rep seats and not creating more posts.
She warned President Uhuru Kenyatta against allowing the creation of more political posts saying Kenyans are poor and can't continue carrying the burden of paying huge taxes.
"The building bridges initiative which was started by President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga after the historic handshake is good and as leaders we must support the initiative for the purpose of ensuring Kenyans are living in peace, unity and harmony," she added.
