The water tank was started by the national government through CDF fund kitty with an aim of serving more than 5 villages in the area which have been experiencing water shortage crisis.

Area residents who walk for long distances down the hill to fetch water say they have been receiving reports from CDF office and it's committee members that the project which is not even quarter complete has consumed over Sh 7 Million since 2007.

"We are suffering since 2007. Our area MP Jimmy Angwenyi started this project but we have waited all these years it has never been completed. We are told by some CDF committee members that the project has consumed Sh 7M, honestly from the look of things has this project consumed Sh7M?" asked Maeri a resident.

Area ward representative Paul Angwenyi said water being a devolved function, the water project was not systematically transferred to county government in 2013 a move that has led the county to go silent on the project for its records are not clearly known.

"Yes the water project is in my ward but I want to be honest it was not transferred to us in 2013 and we clearly don't know its project because by then it was under the office of area member of parliament," said Angwenyi.

Our effort to reach the CDF Manager Mr Dominic to get some information and a clear record of the project was futile for he refused to pick our calls.
