Jubilee's Kibra parliamentary aspirant McDonald Mariga has vowed to elevate levels of education in the constituency if elected.
Speaking when he handed over geometrical sets to KCPE and KCSE candidates on Monday, he promised to secure international scholarships for Kibra students.
The footballer who also handed over personalized success cards termed this one of his six-point education agenda, which also includes establishing a school in every ward.
“I will actively seek international scholarships to empower our Kibra students,” he said adding that he will also introduce a feeding programme in all public schools, to he run by Mariga Foundation.
He also promised to ensure transparent allocation of nursery through a teacher-parent Technical Bursary Committee.
“I will introduce a Kibra CV bank which will use technology to lobby for jobs for our youth,“ added Mariga.
Mariga will battle it out with among others, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party candidate Imran Okoth and Ford Kenya's Khamisi Butichi in the November 7 race.
Also in the race is Amani National Congress (ANC) candidate Eliud Owalo, in the contest to fill the vacancy left aftet the death of former MP the late Ken Okoth in July.
