Following the recent fight against corruption in the country, a Kisii politician cum secretary in Public Service Commission Rachel Otundo now wants only one body to deal with corruption cases.
This comes shortly after many cases of corruption are being reported but due to the fact that many bodies handle the case, democracy becomes breached hence leaving the corrupt individuals to walk scot free.
"Although the president us working hard against corruption, he says that he has been disappointed on how corruption cases are being handled. We have too many bodies which deal with such corruption cases. In the process, democracy is breached and at the end of the day, the victims go scot-free,” Otundo said.
While addressing journalists in Kisii town in Monday, she also said that "EACC should have the prosecutorial powers to prosecute directly, instead of taking the cases to the DPP"
In the fight against corruption, the president had ordered that no corrupt individual should be left out in the fight since it is a measure taken to wipe what has been derailing development projects in the country.
However, the same seems not to be achieved despite the gusto at which the corrupt individuals are being investigated, justice is not served as most of them come out scot-free hence making the fight a little complicated.
