Top city lawyer Steve Ogolla has weighed in on the blistering criticism President Uhuru Kenyatta subjected Central Kenya Members of Parliament moving around politicking at the expense of working.
Writing on Twitter Sunday evening hours after Uhuru's excoriation of the MPs, Steve Ogolla called on the head of state to stop humiliating Ruto at every turn.
Ogolla said that the president was free to choose any candidate other than Deputy President Dr William Ruto and that Raila Odinga was also free to endorse a candidate.
"UHURU should stop humiliating Ruto at every turn. He's free to support Baba in 2022, and Baba is free to offer an alternate candidate if he's open to it. The presidency is not a matter of life and death, " Steve Ogolla posted.
President Uhuru spoke at Kasarani during a conference organised by members of the Akorino denomination.
Even though he steered clear off mentioning names, political pundits took the president's tirade to have been delivered against DP Ruto's allies, members of the so-called Tanga Tanga group.
President Uhuru spoke in Kikuyu when he tore into the legislators.
Present at the Kasarani Akorino conference was DP Ruto who thanked the president for choosing him as his deputy.
