Koilel Farm was among 64 entities whose payments were blocked National Cereals and Produce Board last year over allegations that it was involved in illegal importation of maize at a cheap price.

Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny had linked the farm to Dr Ruto, accusing him of using it at the expense of genuine farmers in North Rift, a claim which Ruto denied.

"Koilel Farm, just Google it. Look at the pictures, it's owned by the DP and he can't deny it. It's one of the companies used by cartels to syphon money from NCPB," said Kutuny.

Dr Ruto's farm with 11 others are set to receive pay amounting to Sh200 million from NCPB in few weeks time. EACC investigations shows that the farm was not involved in any illegalities.

Further, it states, the farm genuinely produced 6,000 bags from it's 430 acre farm in North Rift. Six individuals have been recommended for prosecution while 44 others are under investigations.

“I spoke to the SFR and they promised to release funds to clear these farmers,” Mr Albin Sang, the Managing Director of NCPb told the Business Daily.

The latest development is a relieve for Dr Ruto, who has been fighting claims that he's sabotaging war against graft. Recently, he accused investigating agencies of being misused by authorities.
