Former Kisumu Woman Representative Rose Nyamunga now wants the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to push for speedy probe into Sharon Otieno’s mysterious murder.
Nyamunga wants the DPP to use the energy he is using in the fight against corruption to hunt down Otieno’s killers.
The nominated senator said that Otieno’s family is depending on Haji and his team for justice.
“The DPP should actively get involved in the investigations being done by the police and help bring the killers to book,” she told journalists at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday.
“We know the DPP is serious in fighting crime and corruption, and should urgently take up these case,” she added.
Nyamunga noted that she will not keep quiet until justice is served.
Ms Otieno, a second year Medical Records student was found murdered on Tuesday, two days after she was abducted along with Nation reporter Barrack Oduor, who managed to escape from the abductors.
So far, Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo has been arrested in connection to the murder, and abduction.
The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti on Wednesday announced that an elite team from his agency had been sent to Migori to investigate the incident.
