A local chief in Kisii County was forced to wrestle with a thief who was caught in possession of electronic items.
The incident happened in Nyatieko location, Kitutu Chache South in Kisii County.
Lawrence Omari said theft is at the peak in the area and vowed to fight the upcoming thieves to the end.
"Residents alerted me that Jared Orero had stolen his neighbor's electronics prompting me to storm the suspect's house when he started wrestling me so that he can escape arrest," said Omari.
The energetic chief said he engaged in a fight with the suspect when he tried to handcuff him in vain.
"I could not allow him to run away. I had to wrestle him before I handcuffed him. A stolen hoofer, radio cassette and a 32-inch television was recovered from the suspect's house," said the chief.
The administrator said he later surrendered the suspect to Nyakoe police station for court processing.
He warned local youths against dropping out of school to start stealing from locals.
"Parents should not allow their children to venture into illegal activities. Theft is illegal and punishable by law," he added.
