A middle age man from Langas estate in the outskirts of Eldoret town is in agony after he found out that his only chicken had been slaughtered.
The man who is popularly known as 'Stone' by locals is said to have been searching for the hen for the past three days after it went missing.
However, on Thursday evening he met the unexpected after he found the hens feathers in a nearby rubbish pit.
"I have been searching for my only hen which I bought using all my savings and I have used it to help cater for some of my necessities," the man said while sobbing.
"It was really unfortunate when I found its feathers in the rubbish pit, it means a jealous person must have slaughtered and eaten it," he added.
It is reported that the man had vowed to search for the missing hen door-to-door until he finds it only to stumble on its feathers.
"He believed that someone must have hidden," said Andeyo, a neighbour to the man.
One of the witnesses said he heard the man wailing and shouting at the rubbish pit.
"When I heard 'Stone' crying out there, I run to the scene as I thought it was something tragic only to find him crying over a hens feathers," said one of the witness busting into laughter.
"The man was depending on the hen for eggs which he always sold to cater for his basic needs," said on another local.
The man who earns a living by carrying passengers luggage in Eldoret town has now vowed to search for the culprit responsible for his hens' slaughtering so as to teach him a lesson.
