Gaucho, who is in the country courtesy of sports betting platform Betika, began his tour by opening a Betika gaming shop in Kisumu Town before heading to meeting area Deputy Governor Mathews Owilli.

The Brazilian superstar later headed down to the Moi Stadium where he was to preside over the Betika-Ronaldinho Kenya Tour Tournament pitting Kenya Premier League side Vihiga United and lower placed Bondo United, Eldoret Youth and Kisumu All Stars.

However, contrary to the expectations of the many fans who expected to mingle with him and probably take photos and have his autographs, he left shortly after his arrival.

This resulted in disappointment among the crowd which had hoped to socialize with the man they saw on television years back massacring goalkeepers in the La-Liga, Serie-A, and Ligue-1 leagues.

Some residents castigated him for failing to deliver as was promised on radio and television commercials before his arrival.

"Several commercials on radio stations clearly indicated that we would get some time to socialize with him, what changed?" Paul Rabuor, a resident, said.

"I was looking forward for a selfie with him, my son also wanted to have a closer view of him but I am disappointed that he had to leave before that," said Brian Ochieng.

Before hanging his boots, the Samba Boys forward played for Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain, and AC Milan.

During the Saturday clash, Vihiga United emerged the winners, followed by All-Stars.

Eldoret Youth emerged second runners-up as the Bondo Youth bottomed the tournament.
