Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has rubbished claims that he will contest for the Machakos senatorial seat in 2022.
Mule who is serving his second term in office said he is not interested in the seat.
He said the rumors were being peddled by his political nemesis who are out to create confusion to the electorates.
"For some time now, there are rumors going round that I'm eyeing the senatorial seat which I'm not. My people should treat them just as rumors," Mule said.
Mule addressed the press in his constituency on Monday.
The legislator said he knows the people behind the rumors.
He, however, declined to mention their names.
Mule said he will defend his parliamentary seat in the next general elections.
The MP argued that there are lots of development projects he needs to implement in Matungulu before thinking of a county political position.
"I want to say that in 2022 I will be contesting for Matungulu parliamentary seat again. I still have so much to do to my people. So, I won't be eyeing other seats," he said.
