The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has finally released KCSE examinations timetables.
It is now official that candidates sitting for this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will commence their exams on November 4 with the last paper being due on November 27.
As it is, practical examinations for subjects such as Home Science, Agriculture, Woodwork among others which take at least seven months already kicked off in January and are due in the next month for final assessment.
Students taking foreign languages like French, German and Arabic will take their oral exam between October 21st and October 25th. The 2019 exam timetable has outlined stiffer penalties for all candidates who will be found to have cheated in the exams.
Just last week, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha issued a tough warning to school heads, expressing concern that exam cartels could be regrouping ahead of this year's national exams.
He, however, asked the school principals to focus more on completing the syllabus as stipulated by Knec and the Education Ministry in bid to put their candidates at a better position to handle the 2019 exams.
During the release of 2018 KCSE results, statistics showed that cases of cheating had drastically reduced as compared to earlier years. It is expected that in 2019, there will be more decrease in cases of exam malpractices given the strict measures already in place.
