The body of 9-year-old Maribel Kapolon who went missing has been found dumped in Gitoro Forest, Meru.

Kapolon was a daughter to senior resident magistrate of Githongo Law Courts Caroline Kemei.

The girl was kidnapped on September 6 after being dropped by a school bus around their home.

It is not clear why the kidnappers decided to kill such an innocent child.

Witnesses said she was with three other girls when she was called by her name by some people and rushed to them.

DCI boss George Kinoti said they have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder.

“We suspect a domestic issue that led to this. We are interrogating one suspect,” he said. The deceased was a pupil at Consolata Primary school.
