This is after the former Vice President attended the homecoming ceremony of famous Kisii politician Don Bosco Gichana last week.

Gichana was recently released from a Tanzanian prison after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to launder money and money laundering.

The flamboyant businessman came out of five-year detention after paying Sh13.7 million fine.

But according to former Kibwezi Member of Parliament Kalembe Ndile, it was wrong for Kalonzo to be in companionship with 'criminals' when he had thrown his weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts to end graft.

The ex-legislator also took issue with Wiper leader's move to defend Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu who has been charged with economic crimes.

He said the two cases demonstrated that Kalonzo may be compromised and fail to offer justice once he becomes the Head of State.

"In 2022 Kenyans will elect a person of integrity. If Kalonzo were to be elected president, would he influence the outcomes of court cases facing his friends?" the former Assistant Minister posed.

The accusations come at a time when Kalonzo is mourning the demise of his father, Peter Musyoka Mairu, who died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
