Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga has dismissed a statement issued by Senator James Orengo over an impeachment motion against Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking on Tuesday morning at Citizen TV, the vocal legislator said the ODM's party National Executive Council (NEC) have never discussed any matter concerning the DP.
"I sit in the ODM's NEC and we have not had any discussions as a party to impeach the Deputy President," said Wanga.
She further said that the Siaya Senator might be acting on a personal vendetta against DP Ruto, therefore, his advances should be taken as personal and not the position of the party.
"Senator Orengo can proceed to act on the way that he wants as an individual," added the legislator.
Wanga's remarks denying ODM's involvement in Orengo's attack on the DP puts the revered lawyer in a tight spot.
Late last month, during an interview with KTN, Orengo revealed that ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta will form a political party/alliance before 2022.
These sentiments were later quashed by ODM chairperson John Mbadi terming them as a personal statement and not the party's position.
On Sunday during the Ugenya by-election campaign, the Orengo remarked that he will institute a motion on the floor of the house to remove the DP Ruto from office noting that he has been linked to several corruption scandals.
