Speaking during an interview on KTN's Point Blank on Wednesday, Raila said that there is a need to change the current constitution for better leadership.

The ODM leader, who has been championing for a corruption-free nation, however, said that he agreed with President Uhuru Kenyatta not to talk about 2022 politics while rooting for the referendum.

He was responding to KTN's Point Blank Host Tony Gachoka’s question on whether he wants the Presidential term limit extended to 7 years so that he could be a benefit of the same.

“We said with Uhuru when we signed the MoU that we are not going to talk about 2022," as quoted by Standard.

During the interview, Raila also maintained that he and Uhuru are committed to the achievement of the Big Four Agenda. He alluded that unity is important for the attainment of the vision of this nation.

He also rubbished claims that the intensified fight against corruption is targeting Deputy President William Ruto, who has declared an interest in the nation’s top seat after Uhuru completes his second and final term in office.

The ODM leader is considered one of the threats of DP Ruto as he scouts to take over power when that time comes. Ruto has since opposed the push for the creation of the post of the Prime Minister.
