Comrades at Moi University are living in anxiety as to when booking of hostels will happen.
Most of them had believed that booking will take place on January 2 but that was not the case. A good number of the students are still in the dark on the booking timelines as no official communication has been released yet.
Samwel Jakom, the student leader in charge of accommodation and security at the Kesses-based university has now indicated that booking may happen on January 3.
"We may have a booking of hostels exercise from 9 to 12 for /15, /17, /19 then /18 to book as from 2. That's my proposal. Not yet published but it is tomorrow," the student leader stated on Wednesday.
He was however quick to add that the specific timelines for the groups have not yet been established although booking will take place on January 3.
The high population at the institution has always posed a challenge when it comes to the booking of rooms. Some of the unlucky students usually fail to secure a room and are forced to make private arrangements for accommodation.
According to a memo that was released earlier on, the booking system is being improved so as to accommodate more students during the process.
Some of the students have expressed disappointment in the school administration.
"The booking system is always marred with confusion at the beginning of every semester. It is high time the administration renovated and upgraded the system," Reagan Omolo noted.
For now, the students will have to wait and see if booking will indeed take place on the specified date.
