Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has dismissed claims that Deputy Governors who have served for two (2) terms should retire in 2022.
Maangi who has shown interest to succeed his current boss Governor James Ongwae said he is young and energetic to serve the people of Kisii County.
"I am saddened by some individuals saying Deputy Governors who have served for 2 terms should retire. I want to reiterate that I am not ready to go home with my boss in 2022 because it is my right to vie for the governor's position," he said.
The Deputy Governor condemned a section of politicians pushing others to retire terming term as lazy and desperate individuals with a hidden agenda to achieve.
He challenged Kisii County electorates to ignore lazy politicians with an intention to get into power to embezzle public funds.
"Voters will decide in the ballot who will be the next governor. Some selfish individuals pushing others to retire should find something constructive to do," he added.
Maangi assured that all development projects in the county will be completed before his boss retires.
