According to reports published by Citizen Digital, the accident which happened on Friday afternoon, is said to have involved a Nissan matatu heading to Western Kenya and an oil tanker.

Confirming the incident, Western region traffic Commander Saitera Mwita revealed that that the oil tanker’s brakes failed thus making the driver to lose control, ramming into a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) that was picking passengers at  Kaburengu market enroute to Eldoret town.

Three people; a man, mother and her child survived with serious injuries.

The Friday accident happens just two days after a priest attached to the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret perished in another accident along Kapsowar-Chesoi road in the neighbouring Elgeyo Marakwet county.

Even as this happens, road users have been urged to be extra cautious especially during the festive season.
