Speaking on Thursday after visiting the victim, Kasimbi told journalists that the suspect should be behind bars.
"I have visited the lady and seen the damage done by the husband. According to what I have heard, the husband is still at large. The police should hunt him down and bring him to book. The man should be behind bars," said Kasimbi.
She condemned the incident and assured residents that she will spearhead the fight against gender-based violence in the county.
The MP further urged residents to report such cases to the police as soon as they happen.
"No place is far in the quest for justice, the society should also not turn a blind eye to gender-based violence cases," she added.
