Kisii County Assembly Majority leader Timothy Ogugu has fired warning shots to lazy contractors.
Mr. Ogugu while speaking on Friday when he inspected the ongoing Umeme-Keombe-Mosabo, Nyagancha-Mogumo-Eberege roads in Magenche ward said contractors will not get their payments if they will do shoddy work.
"Contractors working on various projects not only in my ward but, also Kisii County will not get paid if they will do the projects poorly. I am appealing to contractors to work hard to finish the contracts timely," he said.
He argued that the ongoing road projects in the ward once completed, transportation of people and agricultural products to the various market across Kisii County will be easier.
The ward representative reiterated that no contractor will get the county tenders using the backdoor.
According to the Magenche ward MCA, tenders will only be awarded to Kisii County registered contractors.
"There is no need for local contractors to worry because all county tenders will be given to registered county contractors. As the majority leader I will not allow foreign to get county tenders," he added.
