Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has been warned against skipping summons by Parliamentary House Committees to answer questions.
Justin Muturi, the National Assembly speaker said Matiang'i is not superior to continue snubbing summons.
"MPs have rights to question Cabinet secretaries. He (Matiang'i) has been pretending of being too busy doing nothing. We can't continue entertaining situations where a Cabinet secretary is skipping committee summons," he said.
According to Muturi, the security committee will meet and agree on a resolution to before Matiang'i is punished.
"Rogue people can't be condoned to continue serving as Cabinet Secretaries. CSs unwilling to meet MPs to answer various questions should leave office since snubbing summons indicates that there is impunity ongoing," he added.
Matiang'i is perceived to be a hardworking Cabinet secretary among CSs appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
A section of Gusii residents have drummed up support for Matiang'i to vie for Presidency in 2022.
"Matiang'i is worth a leader. He should consider vying for Presidency in 2022," said Gephas Mose in Nyamira town on Thursday.
Peter Matundura warned MPs against forcing Matiang'i to resign saying Matiang'i is feared due to his strictness in dealing with cartels.
