Kathiani Member of Parliament Robert Mbui on Wednesday publicly endorsed his Mavoko counterpart Patrick Makau for Machakos gubernatorial seat in the 2022 general elections.
Mbui who had accompanied Makau for a license issuance ceremony to 3,000 bodaboda operators from Mavoko sub-county at Mlolongo primary school said fellow the legislator had proven his leadership skills since he was the mayor of the defunct Machakos Municipal Council.
"While I handled matters to do with development and he was the mayor and he has streamlined Mavoko isn't he a great leader?" Kathiani MP posed to the crowd.
"When someone does a good job he is promoted and I accept Makau you deserve a promotion because you're capable," he added.
He even went ahead to ask that should Makau succeed in clinching the seat, he should not forget him.
Mbui's remarks come as a shock because he had for long made his interest for the top county seat known to the public.
More than 3,000 bodaboda operators received licenses after undergoing a one-month training.
