Lawyer Miguna Miguna is now blaming state officials at the helm of the monetary sector for weakening the Kenyan economy.
The controversial lawyer claims that persons presiding over the National Treasury and Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), have been plundering the economy, slowly killing it.
In a tweet Thursday, the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant observed that the group has for 15 years presided over the economical hardships the nation has been experiencing.
He stressed on the need for Kenya to follow the example set by countries 'governed by the rule of law', and deal with the people he said are toxic for economy growth.
According to Miguna, the group would have been in jail were they operating in a nation with a well structured legal framework.
"In any other country governed by the rule of law, the Treasury and Central Bank of Kenya top managers would be in jail for having presiding over more than 15 years of economic massacre. They have destroyed and plundered the economy to death, hence their rewards," he tweeted.
His remarks came only hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta reappointed Patrick Njoroge as CBK governor prolonging his tenure which will now end in 2023.
