Self-proclaimed NRM General Miguna Miguna's radical faction claimed victory in Nyamira over the ongoing tax boycott.
Early on Monday, protests erupted in various towns across the county as the government came to terms with 'resist campaign' initiated by NRM youths from the region.
"This is just the beginning. From Tuesday expect more coordinated campaigns. Nobody will pay taxes to a rogue regime," said David Ogwagwa.
Besides collection of signatures to dissolve Nyamira over alleged defectiveness in service delivery, the team has mobilised traders to boycott tax remittances.
And on his Twitter handle, Miguna Miguna, the man behind the popular resistance campaigns against national government, hailed Nyamira youths for 'discipline'.
"Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS to the NRMKe Nyamira Platoon. You have proved that a revolutionary seed never dies.
"It is resilient like the mustard seed. It is watered with truth and ENERGIZED by the injustices the despots inflict on us. Viva!" he said.
Governor John Nyagarama has struggled to restore order in the ODM controlled county, two months after jetting from US where he was indisposed.
By Monday, county workers had not received salaries for three months even as speaker Moffat Teya made a follow up at the Controller of Budget Agnes Odhiambo's office.
