The outspoken MP was responding to a tweet by Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, in which she was defending her tenure as the MP for Gichugu.

This came after a Twitter user hit out at Karua’s development record by posting photos of untarmacked roads and underdeveloped trading centres in Kianyaga, Gichugu.

In her defence, Karua noted that all constituencies in the rural areas have dusty shopping centres, including Gatudu where President Uhuru Kenyatta hails from.

Kuria, who is known not to mince his words, however, responded in a humorous manner, wondering why everyone, including American singer Tina Turner, likes picking on his constituency.

Kuria’s response elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans, with some terming the post the tweet of the year.

Here are some of the reactions.

On Monday, Kuria posted Tina Turner's 'What's love got to do with it' video on his Facebook page, with the caption "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to my great people of Gatundu".
