Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has found himself in the middle of the ongoing 2022 presidential puzzle in Western Kenya.

The former Deputy Prime Minister who has since declared his presidential bid remains with an uphill task of realizing the same, due to the still competition playing out for the same ticket in the area.

With his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya also seeking the seat, he might not have all the support he needs, forcing him to get a way out of the basket he has put himself in.

To come out, Mudavadi only needs to crush his competitors by simply declaring himself the leader of the region and start leading, as this way, he will render the others his subjects and irrelevant in the race.

He should also stop engaging in the ongoing Luhya Unity debate and the bid to have one of the region's leaders lead it in the forthcoming elections.

Instead, he should realize that he is the most experienced and suitable, after rising to the Vice Presidential slot in the past.

Any region will follow a person who stands up strong to lead without relying on clinging on others, as he has been doing with opposition leader Raila Odinga, and he has to realize it.

Therefore, it is time he parted ways with Raila, the same way Deputy President William Ruto parted ways with Raila in 2010 and emerged the ultimate leader of the Kalenjin people and later the Deputy Head of State.

He should impress and convince his people by taking over and solely uniting the community which has been disunited in the past and that will make him its unquestioned kingpin.

With his backyard solidly behind him, he can now easily convince the remaining part of the nation to side with him.
