Jubilee party is still intact and ready to deliver its mandate to Kenyans, Deputy President William Ruto has asserted.
In recent weeks, news about alleged divisions has dominated the local media with even some insiders admitting tension between two rival camps.
“Let us not cheat each other that there are no divisions. We are being given options to join team Tanga Tanga or team Kieleweke,” said nominated senator Isaac Mwaura.
So divisive were the divisions that Uhuru reportedly met Ruto in State House last week to try to iron out the differences.
But on Sunday, Ruto dismissed alleged divisions in the party insisting that his meeting with Uhuru only focused on issues revolving around development.
“It is true we met but we never discussed anything to do with divisions because there is none. The president is keen to deliver the Big Four agenda.
“In fact, we discussed how we can use committees to push the government agenda rather than PGs. We were finding a solution on how to bring on board everybody,” he said.
Media reports indicated that Uhuru may have cancelled a PG planned for last Tuesday to avert further fallout within the Jubilee party.
