Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has revisited a video from last year's National Prayer Day on May 31 where leaders from both Jubilee and NASA apology apologised to each other.
Almost one year has passed since the last prayer day and in the video shared, President Uhuru Kenyatta is seen explaining in much more details what he did and said, ending by asking Raila Odinga for forgiveness.
"We have said nasty things about each other, we have hurt one another. On my behalf, brother(Raila) I ask for your forgiveness and I tender my apology," the President said.
When he passed the microphone to Deputy President William Ruto, the DP said that he thought the President was doing the apology on their (Jubilee) behalf.
Sifuna insinuated that from the video, President Uhuru looked genuine in his apology unlike DP Ruto suggesting that is what has caused Kenya to 'drug back to the mud'.
"Barely a year later we are back to the politics of personalized attacks and insults. Kenyans could tell even back then, who wasn't sincere in their "apology" for their vitriolic utterances. Its in keeping to their character that they have dragged us back to the mud," contended Sifuna.
The DP has been constantly attacking the opposition leader, especially recently by linking him to the fake Gold scam, as Raila claims he was the whistleblower.
