In an exclusive interview with Daily Nation on Sunday, the legislator said that President Uhuru Kenyatta should pull up his socks in the war against the vice. He noted that the nation has been losing billions through corrupt dealings.

He argued that unless President Uhuru Kenyatta stands up against corruption, the country will not realize its development agenda as planned.

He also said that graft has proven to be the greatest threat to the development of this nation.

“Corruption or actual stealing is greatest threat to survival of Kenya. It must be fought in all ways,” Mr Maina said

Senator Maina opined that leaders must support Uhuru in the fight to end the loss of billions.

The veteran politician further said that he has worked with past heads of state and can attest that the current leadership is at risk of failure if the president doesn’t not act urgently.

The remarks of the senator come at a time when Uhuru has expressed his commitment towards recovering billions lost through mega scandals that have rocked Kenya over decades.

He has also been pleading with leaders not to engage in early campaigns at the expense of development-related issues.
