Nakuru town boasts of many condom dispensers in many social places, including public toilets and government administration places.
The weird thing, however, is that though branded with advises on the benefits of using these materials, you will always realize that the boxes are empty when you try your luck.
Here are some of the most probable reasons why the condensers are empty.
1. Poor maintenance
They are only filled when put up for the first time, with the relevant bodies tasked with the responsibility of looking after them abandoning them immediately after the job.
Usually done by government agencies put up to combat HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections and other non-governmental organizations which are as well involved in many other operations, they become forgotten soon after.
2. High demand
Many people scramble for the free merchandise to avoid the cost and embarrassment of acquiring them from shops and chemists.
3. Destruction
Due to their placement in dark corners, usually toilets and hidden corridors, they are subjected to vandalism.
This leaves them destroyed and unable to hold the next round of loading.
