Addressing the press from parliament buildings, Kuria stated that his comments regarding development in the Central Kenya region had put him under sharp criticism.

He stated that he had received threats, whose details he had shared with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

He spoke amid claims that he had resigned, saying he hopes the ongoing debate will be put to rest. He stated that he had listened to various leaders from various parts of Central Kenya, apologizing for having claimed that the region was underdeveloped.

"I have keenly listened to leaders like Governors Waititu, Waiguru, Kimeimia, Kiraitu and Wa Iria. They are of the view that their counties are developed. I apologize to them for insinuating that there is no development in their counties," stated Moses Kuria.

He further observed that the truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga ought to be used in resolving historical injustices regarding the distribution and allocation of resources.

He asked members of President Uhuru's executive to be wary that they were letting down the President. He stated that there exists staggered implementation of already funded projects and vowed not to shy away from calling out cases of those 'sleeping on their job.'
