Residents of Keoke village in Taracha, Kisii County are still in shock after a man mysteriously died in his sleep.
It is alleged that Christopher Obonyo never complained of any health shortcomings before his shocking death.
"My brother was well because he had supper with his wife and children before he retired to bed. His death is a shock to us because he has never been to hospital or even complained of health challenges," said Obonyo's brother, Michira Obonyo.
Mr Michira linked his brother's death to witchcraft.
Kisii County police commander Martin Kibet said Christopher was found dead in bed on Sunday morning by his brother Michira Obonyo.
"Christopher has been working at Masimba in Masaba South at the Immigration offices. He met his death when he retired to bed on Saturday 10pm.
"His death remains a mystery to family members who have confirmed that he didn't complain being unwell by the time he retired to bed," said Kibet.
Kibet said the body of the deceased had no physical injuries but was bleeding from his mouth.
"Detectives are on the ground investigating the mysterious death. More details will be given once investigations are done," he said.
He said the body was moved to Christamarriane Hospital morgue.
