Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi, received a delegation from the Central Bank of Kenya led by Board Chair Mohammed Nyaoga and CBK Governor Dr. Patrick Njoroge in Mombasa.
The CBK has been an essential figure in the entire equation of devolution, Kingi said, adding that being the government's banker, "we have had to rely on the efficiency of the Bank to run our programmes."
He said the bank has diligently played its role as a conduit pipe for funds coming into the counties from the National Treasury.
"As a government we appreciate our working relationship with the CBK which has to a greater extent enabled us to effectively deliver most crucial services to our people."
Their discussions on Friday also touched on the economic pulse of Mombasa county, with the delegation lauding the county's efforts to ensure a stable upward trajectory on the economic grid.
The CBK acknowledged the efficiency of the County Government of Mombasa in utilising allocated resources giving references to specific milestones achieved under the leadership of Governor Hassan Ali Joho.
"We are committed to continue giving value to our citizens even as we further our engagements with the CBK," he added.
