The late Sharon Otieno’s former husband has spoken for the first time, almost a week after the brutal murder of the Rongo University Student.
The ex-husband, Bernard Okuta is a High School teacher.
“This matter is too emotive for me to comment. If I wanted to comment about it, I would have done so long ago. I would rather leave the matter to the police and other investigators to find out what happened. That is all I can say,” said Okuta as quoted by the Nation.
It is reported that from the word go, the ex-husband was not willing to speak to the media about his marriage with the late.
“What the spokesperson of the family said about the family of the deceased is enough. I will not say anything. Please go and talk to the police for more information,” he said.
Okuta and Sharon Otieno reportedly separated last year after being blessed with three children, a son and two daughters.
Sharon's body was recovered at the Kodera Forest on Wednesday two days after she went missing.
She was abducted alongside Nation Media Homabay County-based reporter Barack Oduor. Oduor survived the ordeal by jumping out of the abductor’s speeding car.
