In an interview with Sunday Nation, Kennedy said he never had an ambition of joining the political arena when he traveled overseas to study.

He revealed that his studies in Australia shaped him in different ways before he returned to Kenya.

The Wiper leader's son noted that until his return, he was not fine with the idea of politicking until he got a chance to enter the arena following his nomination into the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA).

“Before I went to study abroad, I hated Kenyan politics because I thought it was too personality-based. However, as I was studying it in Australia, I realized that what I hated was the way we practiced politics at the time,” he said.

The politician disclosed that he had a dream of becoming an ambassador before he changed his mind.

According to Kennedy, he wanted to use his father’s influence and personal academic success to rise to the top as far as diplomacy is concerned before things took a different twist.

His appointment into EALA elicited mixed reactions from different factions.
