Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna has urged Chief Justice David Maraga not to attend political events organized by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto and African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga.

The self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader said that he had received the clarification on Maraga’s stand on the nomination of Former Nairobi Vice Chancellor George Magoha but he was not happy with the CJ attending a rally in Kisii.

He reminded Maraga that he was taking back the county to a one-party state where KANU was the political outfit that controlled everything.

“This "clarification" is well received, Mr. Chief Justice. However, next time, refrain from making embarrassing statements and appearing in "KANU-JUU" type of political events that portray you as a despotic poodle. Guard your legacy," he tweeted on Sunday.

Miguna has faulted Maraga for what he believed as a subversion of the constitution.

He noted that Maraga was not justified to say Magoha should not be vetted by parliament following his nomination by Uhuru.

The Head of State replaced Sports CS Rashid Echesa with former Education CS Amina Mohammed before naming Magoha in the post.

"Vetting of nominated cabinet secretaries is a constitutional requirement. As the Chief Justice of Kenya David Maraga must never subvert, contradict or make utterances that might encourage the violation of the Constitution," he tweeted on Sunday.
