Nyamira County MP Jerusha Momanyi has finally succumbed to pressure after a section of Nyamira youths led by Dennis Marube claimed that she is sleeping on her job.
The lawmaker while speaking on Friday evening at Bosamaro area denied claims that she is sleeping on the job.
"I've not slept on the job as Nyamira County youths are claiming. I want to assure the youths that they are free to walk into my office to share development priorities which I promise to push hard for the sake of improving livelihoods," she said.
Ms Momanyi said she is committed to empower youths because they are future leaders.
"I will use the Affirmative Action Funds to help our youths, women and disabled people to start businesses for the sake of boosting their lives," she added.
The Jubilee lawmaker reitarated that her rivals should not use the youths to criticize her leadership.
"I'm appealing to local youths not to accept to be misused by my political rivals who I sent to the political cold during the 2017 polls. As a county MP I will work with other leaders to ensure there is accelerated development," she noted.
