Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua has joined Kenyans and other political leaders in mourning veteran journalist Mohammed Juma Njuguna.
In a post on his official Twitter handle, Mutua said the renowned football commentator who has spent about 20 years at Radio Citizen was an exemplary broadcaster.
“It breaks my heart to learn of the passing of colleague & friend Mohammed Juma Njuguna. He was an exemplary broadcaster, a decent man and a lover of Kenya. His voice did not just comment it soothed, advised and was part of our identity. Lala Salama Wetu Mohammed Juma Njuguna," he tweeted.
The veteran sports commentator died on Saturday after a long battle with illness at the Nairobi Hospital.
Friends, colleagues and football fans all over the country have taken it to social media to pay their tribute to the football radio broadcasting legend.
He will be remembered for his prowess in the commentary which has since been picked up by many stations in the country.
