Senate Minority Leader James Orengo has now revealed that the ODM leader is seeking to rise to power with the assistance of Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office.

In an interview with KTN News,  Orengo said that the leaders have been contemplating working together when that time comes.

A combination between Uhuru and Raila is likely to give Deputy President William Ruto sleepless nights.

The senator maintained that the ODM party has remained organized even as referendum looms. He also said that the party will produce a candidate for the Presidential seat and Raila remains the possible option.

“ODM as a party will be on the ballot box in one shape or another, I can tell you that. But what I can tell you for purposes of Raila is that he is involved in an exercise," he said in part as quoted by Standard.

The remarks of the senator come after Raila and Ruto exchange bitter words over the alleged loss of Sh. 21 billion in dams project.

Raila asked Ruto to come clean on the graft allegations.

The second in command, however, maintained that all the funds channelled to the project can be account. The alleged scandal saw Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich grilled over the same.
