Githunguri MP Gabriel Kago is accused of beating up his wife, Emily Wanjiku, whom less than a week ago is reported to have been assaulted and injured at their matrimonial home at Loswan Estate in Kiambu Road.

The MP's alleged side-kick is also said to have assaulted the MP's wife when they bumped into each other at a certain supermarket earlier this year.

Reports also indicate that the MP's wife recorded a statement at the Kiambu Police Station on September 27, a day after the alleged assault.

Meanwhile, Former Kiambu MP aspirant Njenga Wamabati who claims to be a close friend to the MP has condemned his actions in a lengthy post on the 'United States of Kiambu' Facebook group which has elicited varied reactions among members.

"I condemn domestic violence in all its form. Today morning we spoke with Kago at length. He is remorseful and regrets this sad and shameful incident. Am praying for his young family to overcome this wave," writes Wamabati.

Here are some of the reactions to the lengthy post.
